THE THURSDAY FEATURE REBLOG

Yesterday, was a tough day for everyone involved with the wildfires in Colorado, from seeing families homes’ burnt to the ground, to the realization that the fires will leave an indelible scar on the state’s beautiful scenic landscape for years to come. There’s so much emotion surrounding this tragedy, but grief, sorrow, and heartbreak are a few feelings that come to mind when thinking about everything that’s happened.

But who are we, if not for the empathy and help we provide to others.

Today we wanted to spotlight a few inspirational stories on how people are coming together to help aid in these efforts, as well as throw in things we’ve been up to lately to take people’s mind off the current situation.

We’ve seen a community come together from a far, seen social media play its part in delivering vital information to those in need, and we’ve ran across some inspiring stories along the way. One of these stories is of, Wild Fire Tees, a website started recently by a group of Colorado Springs creatives looking to raise relief money by designing and selling t-shirts with 100% of the proceeds going to benefit wildfire victims through organizations like Care and Share and the Colorado Red Cross.

The fund-raising efforts are modeled after a program Austin, Texas, designers put together a few years ago following a huge fire in their area. The group sold about 2,000 T-shirts, which roughly turned out to be $20,000 raised for local charitable organizations.

The group that includes designers from CoPilot Creative, Design Rangers, Fixer Creative and Magneti Marketing are now in the process of coming up with more designs, and are looking to surpass those efforts made from the Austin crew a few years back. Hopefully with a little love and support they can reach their goal.

For more information on purchasing T-Shirts to support their efforts, please visit www.wildfiretees.com and if you’re a desinger interested in submitting a design, email Tucker Wannamaker of Magneti Marketing at hello@wildfiretees.com
