Something happens when you listen.

The words and pictures become clearer in your mind and your consciousness is lifted behind this new found enlightenment that didn’t expose its self in the deafening of the noise but rather in the silence of the peace.

This narrative isn’t new, as a society, we’ve always been here whether you choose to accept this or not. This is a fight and a struggle our fore fathers met, our grandparents endured and our parents passed down to us. Slowly unraveling and shaping its self through time, culture, civil unrest, wars, political theater and the social injustices that bring us to our present day.

The solution isn’t more content, more coverage, more tv & radio interviews or persons of influence telling you how to feel or react. The answer is simpler than that. The answer is found in relationships, community, communication, love and empathy. Its resolve is found in honesty, compassion and trust.

It doesn’t go away by just saying the words, posting to social media complaining that someone else’s social/political views are very different than your own or skewing statistics in a way to prove your argument. It goes away by walking a mile in another man’s shoes and listening to his story, acknowledging the truths about your differences, breaking down stereotypes and finding common bonds that lie together in every American – Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness.

Our Brothers.

Our Sisters.

Our Mothers and Fathers are dying.

Equality is everyone’s burden and everyone’s right.
